Brown University women’s soccer assistant coach Raleigh DeRose has earned a spot in the NSCAA 30 Under 30 program’s class of 2016-17, the National Soccer Coaches Association of America announced. About the NSCAA 30 Under 30 Program DeRose, who joined the Bears’ staff in June of 2016, helped Knox College set a school record for wins in 2015. Launched in 2013, the NSCAA 30 Under 30 program is a yearlong education and mentorship opportunity for a select group of coaches who have made soccer coaching their career of choice. The program was created to support fledgling coaches and foster their growth at a crucial point in their vocation. Participants in the program receive an educational scholarship that includes complimentary registration to the NSCAA Convention, a travel stipend of $300 to attend NSCAA educational opportunities, recognition on NSCAA.com and at the 2017 convention, and access to a dedicated mentor. While at Knox from 2014-15, DeRose served as an assistant coach helping the Prairie Fire set a single-season school record for wins in 2015 with a 13-5-2 record. Knox made its first appearance in the Midwest Conference tournament in 20 years in 2015, advancing to the championship game for the first time in school history. In 2015, the Praire Fire ranked among national leaders in Division III in total goals (14th, 68), goals per game (17th, 3.4), total points (17th, 181), and shots on goal per game (14th, 11.8). DeRose has worked as a coach at several Division I camps, including Illinois, Northwestern, Indiana State, and Bradley. She served as an intern in Bradley’s athletic department in the external affairs office in the summer of 2013, assisting with marketing, development, sales, and corporate partnerships. She also holds a certification in strength and conditioning.
